Peer Mediators

The purpose of peer mediation is to help children find appropriate ways to respond to problems with others, it is not about telling others what to do.  Peer mediators do not "make decisions" but rather work towards a win-win resolution for both sides in order to avoid further conflict.

Digital Leaders

The Prestolee Digital Leaders have been selected after submitting an application form outlining their passion and commitment to Computing. A group of 10 children from Years 4, 5 and 6 are known in school as the Digital Leaders.

Wellbeing Ambassadors

The Wellbeing Ambassadors are a group of pupils who have shown real interest in championing positive mental health and wellbeing. These pupils are keen to share their learning around mental health and advertise the importance of self-care. This group of children have been chosen to be outstanding role models, spread happiness and peace throughout school and support their peers to have healthy minds by promoting the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ initiative.

The Wellbeing Ambassadors are involved in sharing their opinions and views about how we promote wellbeing and a growth mind set around school and will feed back advice and support to their class.

At Prestolee the wellbeing and mental health of our pupils is our top priority and we pride ourselves on the way we support our pupils with their mental health. Our ambassadors will play a key role in sharing positive messages and ensuring that our children feel safe and have the support they need at school.

Primary Leadership Team

At Prestolee we believe the best schools have a pupil lead culture where children take on key leadership roles and get their voice heard. We whole-heartedly value the work of our pupil leaders, using it to shape the teaching and learning that happens at our school. We are moulding leaders of the future, ready for work, ready for the world. We strive to craft confident and articulate leaders who can share their views to any audience and apply their leadership skills to real life situations.

The aim of the Pupil Leadership Team is to enable children the chance to have leadership within the school, ensuring that their voices and opinions are heard. We are a pupil lead school, regularly receiving pupil voice to make improvements. Therefore, we are giving the children the opportunity to assist with those improvements along the journey.

At Prestolee, we actively encourage children to challenge, discuss and debate issues which are important to them.  Our children feel safe to share their opinions and viewpoints.  This is gathered through pupil voice surveys, learning walks and a pupil voice suggestion box.  The feedback the PLT receive from their peers is discussed at regular meetings and then acted upon accordingly.

Eco Council

The Climate Leadership team is a group of pupils who meet each month to discuss eco-friendly and environmental issues within school which prepares children to live their future lives with consideration for global issues. There is one eco councillor from each class in Year 1 to Year 6.

Why do we have an Eco Council?

-To ensure our school is eco-friendly and prepares pupils to live with reflection of the environment.

-To make sure each class has a platform to voice their opinions.

-To discuss and raise issues related to the environment.

Sports Leadership Team

Our sports leadership team is a group of pupils from Years 2-6 who are passionate about leading an active and healthy lifestyle. These pupils show enthusiasm, great teamwork skills and are eager to promote being healthy and keeping fit within our school. Sports Leaders have the responsibility to encourage and inspire children to engage in physical activity at play times and lunch times by organizing and leading fun sport activities.
